Exhibition Statement
The show „Castaway“ is based on the installation „A White Mess“ by Bo Christian Larsson which has been part of the Soundfair project „The Listening Room“ in May 2010:
„The installation denies what a viewer is expecting to see and proves the vigorousness of a collective image-memory triggered by sound. The entire film „Apocalypse Now“ by Francis Ford Coppola will be played but not seen. Only the complete sound is heard, the image replaced by the inner remembered or imagined picture. A small bamboo forrest serves as green display. Its slightly streaming surfaces performs as the projection screen from which within the sound of the film appears to arise.“
